The inaugural President of the Friends was the then Member for Hawthorn, later Premier of Victoria, the Hon Ted Baillieu AO, who was an architect before entering Parliament.

Mr Baillieu was succeeded as President by John Herniman, also an architect, who has experience working on heritage church buildings.

Mr Herniman has a particular interest in the work of Alfred Dunn, architect of Auburn Uniting Church and other significant buildings from Melbourne's land boom of the 1880s.

Following the death of the inaugural Patron of the Friends, the Hon Evan Walker, Mr Baillieu kindly agreed to be our new Patron.

The Executive Officer is Cheryl Pisterman.
